Wax lists are for both classic and skate skis. Prices are not included on this list due Gear West sometimes running out of certain waxes (ex. Swix Green), and a different brand is suggested for them to purchase (ex. Toko Mint). With those two waxes, there is a price differential due to the different brands. This guide should help the buyer enough to be able to go directly to Gear West. The beginner section waxes will be approximately $45 total, but should last the athlete all year. Both Classic and Skate (freestyle) skiing are used during the season, and athletes are required to wax regularly and properly. Waxing time at school or home is also necessary once or twice a week. A waxing clinic is held early in season to teach correct process. Gear West holds weekly clinics throughout season. Patience and care required due to size, maintenance and frequent transport of equipment. Gear West’s owner Brian Knutson is a Former Cardinal skier and State Champion and provides a discount to the Coon Rapids Skiers.
